Last year Trick Daddy found himself in trouble with the law after he was stopped by police in Miami and arrested for cocaine possession and driving while under the influence. Now it looks like he is able to finally put the case behind him and move on from the situation.
According to TMZ, the District Attorney’s Office revealed to them that he was able to land a deal where he is pleading guilty to the possession of cocaine, and he’ll get credit for time served, and in return, the DUI charge was dropped.
Police say that he failed a field sobriety test, and body camera footage of the January 2020 arrest also showed a white powdery substance tucked away in a dollar bill. However, there was a minimal amount of cocaine, so he received a low level, third-degree felony.
Trick’s attorney, Harris Gilbert said to TMZ, “As part of the plea he was also able to give back to the community he loves so much with a donation to Camillus House homeless shelter.”
As previously reported, last year during the time of the arrest, officers said that Trick “appeared to be asleep behind the wheel.” He also admitted to having five drinks earlier that night when he was at the club and that he had dropped someone home and he himself was headed home at that time.
The police record stated that he had “slurred speech, bloodshot, watery, glassy eyes and that the officer smelled alcohol on his breath.”
At the time of the arrest, his bond was set at $5,000 on the cocaine possession charge and $1,000 on the driving under the influence charge.
