It has been a little over a year since Vanessa Bryant has lost her husband Kobe Bryant and their 13-year-old daughter Gianna in a tragic helicopter crash. Many family members, friends, and supporters have been keeping their family lifted in prayer as they continue to cope with a tragedy that many people cannot bear to imagine.
Recently Vanessa spoke with People for their Women Changing The World issue and opened up about how she’s been dealing with the passing of Kobe and Gianna.
In her interview, Vanessa said, “I can’t say that I’m strong every day. I can’t say that there aren’t days when I feel like I can’t survive to the next.”
Nonetheless, Vanessa has shown her strength in various ways, whether it’s taking the lead on the unfinished projects that Kobe left behind at his multi-media company Granity Studios, or the relaunch of his charitable non-profit, which has been renamed the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation.
Her motivation to push forward has been described as “finding the light in darkness.”
Vanessa also has been active on social media as she shares special family moments with her daughters Natalia, Bianka, and Capri. As well as inspiring words that have been helpful as she continues to grieve.
Vanessa continued to speak about her current reality and said, “This pain is unimaginable [but] you just have to get up and push forward. Lying in bed crying isn’t going to change the fact that my family will never be the same again. But getting out of bed and pushing forward is going to make the day better for my girls and for me. So that’s what I do.”
Last week, Vanessa took to social media to speak about the complaint she filed in effort to publicly name the deputies that are accused of allegedly taking and sharing photos of the helicopter crash site.
