Kanye West’s former bodyguard Steve Stanulis working on documentaries about his time with rapper
A former bodyguard for Kanye West says he’s mulling offers from two streaming studios to detail his time working with the musical superstar.
Steve Stanulis told Page Six Monday that the studios pursuing him ‘see this as a 48 Hours for real or a Lethal Weapon for real,’ about his experiences with the Grammy winner, 43.
Stanulis, a one-time for the NYPD and Chippendales dancer, said that ‘every day was a new adventure’ amid his ‘two separate times’ working for the rap artist in 2016.
The latest: Steve Stanulis, a former bodyguard for Kanye West, is mulling offers from two streaming studios to detail his time working with the musical superstar. They were snapped in NYC in May of 2016
‘There are a ton of stories I haven’t told,’ said Stanulis, referring to events that occurred in New York City including on the set of Saturday Night Live, at the Met Gala and New York Fashion Week. ‘I was one of his favorite guys.’
The pair had a stormy relationship, trading legal threats, which Stanulis said will likely be a starting point for a creative project.
‘It starts off with $30 million lawsuit, and works backwards, with all the craziness,’ Stanulis said. ‘Why not address the elephant in the room? They threatened to sue me two separate times – once back in the day, and then on a podcast this year.’
Speaking with the Hollywood Raw podcast last year, Stanulis called the Bound 2 artist the ‘neediest, moodiest and worst tipper’ of celebs he’d encountered.
Stanulis said that West used former police officers to staff his security team, and one only lasted ‘five minutes’ on the job with West

‘It went viral, and they threatened to sue me again for $10 million, and my attorney countered and it just went away,’ he said.

Stanulis said putting the project to film is a natural conclusion to his time at the side of the Famous artist.
‘This way nobody has to ask me about this ever again,’ he said. ‘I swear to you – no matter what I do… somewhere along the line [West] comes up. Nothing left to be said. I’m saying it all.
‘They came to me. I like the fact that I’m not … the director, the producer … the whole thing is going to be 1 hour and 20 minutes in a fun, chronological order.’
The budding projects come as West is in the early stages of his divorce from Kim Kardashian; and docuseries over stars such as Britney Spears and Taylor Swift have garnered attention.
