Roommates, the Boulder Police Department recently held a press conference and confirmed that 10 people have died following the shooting earlier this evening at a local Boulder, Colorado grocery store. One of the victims in the mass shooting was a veteran Boulder, Colorado police officer—reports confirm a suspect is currently in custody.
A deadly shooting erupted in Boulder, Colorado at King Soopers grocery store, after an armed man opened fire inside the grocery store and claimed almost a dozen lives. According to Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold, a suspect is currently in police custody, however she did not share any additional information about the type of gun that was used or a possible motive.
Herold reassured residents that “We will work around the clock to get this accomplished,” while confirming that the scope of the police department’s investigation will take at least five days to complete.
During the press conference discussing the tragic shooting, Herold also confirmed that one of the shooting victims was veteran police officer Eric Talley, 51, who happened to be one of the first officers to arrive at the scene when the shooting was initially reported. Talley had reportedly been a police officer since joining the force back in 2010.
The identities of the other nine victims has not been released, as their families need to be identified before that information is made public.
