Roommates, as fans around the world are still mourning the death of DMX, actor Mehcad Brooks says he’s ready to give him a proper tribute. During an interview on the “Clay Cane Show,” Mehcad Brooks said he would be “honored and humbled” to play DMX in a future biopic.
It’s been almost a week since the legendary DMX sadly passed away at age 50 after being removed from life support following a heart attack. As fans continue to pay tribute to his legacy, actor Mehcad Brooks already has the perfect way he would like to give DMX his flowers.
During an appearance on SiriusXM’s “The Clay Cane Show,” Brooks detailed how big of an influence DMX had on him growing up and how he was a life-long fan. “So everybody talks about like, DMX is not the greatest rapper alive. I understand that. Everybody talks about Tupac. Everybody talks about Biggie. Everybody talks about Jay-Z, Andre 3000, Eminem, Kendrick. Got it. But DMX spoke to me in a way that no other rapper did. So I grew up just like this [shows fingers crossed] with DMX in my ears the whole time.”
That’s when Clay Cane said that he could definitely see Mehcad playing DMX in a movie about his life, to which he replied “Listen, I would be blessed. I would honor his memory in such a way, and I would be honored and humbled. From your lips to God’s ears… We’ll see.”
As of now, there has been no official date on DMX’s private and public memorial services, however his family stated that they would keep fans posted regarding the details.
