An emergency alert has been issued in the Greater Moncton area of New Brunswick as officers with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police search for a suspect they say is reportedly carrying firearms.
RCMP are currently searching for 24-year-old Janson Bryan Baker, who is reported to be “carrying firearms with intent to use them.”
Police said he is wanted in connection with a shooting incident that occurred near Riverview High School at around 5:15 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
Officers said one man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said Baker stands at five-feet-ten-inches tall and weighs approximately 145 pounds.
He is described as having brown hair and brown eyes.
Police believe the suspect is driving a black 2020 Hyundai Elantra, with black tinted windows.
The RCMP is urging the public not to approach Baker, but to call police immediately if he is seen.
“Only call 9-1-1 if you have seen Janson Bryan Baker or if you have information on his whereabouts,” police said in a statement.
