Roommates, we are sending our prayers to the family members of Deshayla Harris, who was a cast member on Season 17 of “The Bad Girls Club.”
According to TMZ, DeShayla was one of the victims of the several shootings that took place in Virginia Beach Friday. The site reports that Virginia Beach Police have confirmed Deshayla as one of the two people that were fatally shot as a result of three different shootings. The shootings were reportedly not related. However, the three shootings happened in a short amount of time of one another. Authorities said that Deshayla, unfortunately, passed away at the scene.
Police say that Deshayla was a bystander for the second shooting that occurred, and she was unfortunately hit by a stray bullet. Authorities continued to state that they do not believe this was a mass shooting. The incident has been described as gunshots that occurred from feuding groups near the beachfront.
There were about eight other people who were injured as a result of the shooting. Police were able to place three people in custody in connection to one of the shootings. Ahmon Adams, Nyquez Baker, and Devon Dorsey Jr. were arrested and charged with several different counts. However, authorities say that those suspects were not connected to the shooting that claimed the life of Deshayla.
At the moment, it is unclear if a suspect connected to the shooting that claimed Deshayla’s life has been arrested.
Deshayla’s castmate Kiyanna Monae spoke about her passing and said, “You didn’t deserve this at all, I can’t believe this is even true Shay. Please God take her into your arms and hold her tight.”
