Comedian Ken Jeong is one of the funniest actors in Hollywood, but the Atlanta shootings are no laughing matter, and he’s putting his money where his mouth is.
The Masked Singer judge, 51, donated $50,000 to the GoFundMe pages set up for the families of five victims – Soon Chung Park, Hyun Jung Grant, Suncha Kim, Xiaojie Tan and Yong Yue – it was confirmed by NBC News.
The comedian made $10,000 donations to each of the five campaigns, under the name Kendrick Jeong, which was confirmed to be the actor and comedian.

Jeong’s parents immigrated from South Korea, with the comedian born in Detroit and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina.
He has been sharing some of the victims’ GoFundMe pages on his Twitter account, where he shared another video on March 18, asking for an end to hate against Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) individuals.
‘Enough is enough. Stop the pandemic of hate,’ Jeong said in the video, which also featured messages from Keiko Agena, Manish Dayal and Lou Diamond Phillips.

A representative for Jeong did not respond to requests for comment about the donations.
Hate crimes and violence against Asians have been on the rise since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The aforementioned victims were among eight people killed in shootings at Atlanta-area massage parlors, along with Delaina Ashley Yaun, Paul Andre Michels and Daoyou Feng.

Just a week before the shootings, a report was released revealing almost 3,800 incidents of Asian-American hate.
That number was up significantly from 2,600 incidents reported in the previous year, with 68% of the incidents from this past year reported by Asian women.
The report studied data compiled between March 19 of last year and Feb. 28 of this year, which reveals that 503 incidents took place in 2021 alone.

Jeong has been keeping busy, filming a trio of Fox reality shows, The Masked Singer, The Masked Dancer and I Can See Your Voice.
He also stars in two movies that just debuted over the past few weeks, Tom & Jerry on HBO Max and Boss Level on Hulu.
The actor will next be seen on the big screen in El Tonto, from writer-director Charlie Day, alongside Jason Sudeikis and Kate Beckinsale.
