Yao filed for the split last December 8 after Beasley was seen holding hands in Miami November 23 with Larsa Pippen, 46, the estranged wife of Chicago Bulls icon Scottie Pippen and a former confidante of Kim Kardashian.
Yao, who exchanged vows with Beasley on March 5, 2020, expressed her shock over the split on Instagram Stories prior to her divorce filing.
‘This is wild y’all I’m seeing it for the first time just like y’all,’ adding that she was ‘told to leave our family home 10 day[s] ago, and just like you all I’m pretty confused.’
Yao’s attorneys Paul Applebaum and Alan Eidsness told the outlet in January that the NBA player ‘put Montana and their young son out of the family home while he stayed behind to live there with friends.’

They said that Beasley had ‘only contributed $800 toward the care of their son’ and that Yao forsook a ‘successful’ career in modeling to raise their son.
A lawyer for Beasley said in response, ‘It is unfortunate that counsel for Montana Yao has elected to misrepresent facts in the media to seek sympathy, while omitting the fact his client demanded an outrageous and obscene amount of money for not only her, but for her mother, as an apparent bounty for an eight-month marriage.’
Appearing on Hollywood Unlocked With Jason Lee last month, Pippen said that the notion that Beasley and Yao’s marriage was in crisis ‘wasn’t a secret.’
‘I know a lot of people that are married and exiting,’ she said. ‘They had issues before. It had nothing to do with me, so I wasn’t thinking anything about it. If you spent a minute googling their situation, it wasn’t the ideal situation, way before me.’
