The Real Housewives of Dallas cast member D’Andra Simmons has been hospitalized after being diagnosed with COVID-19.
The 51-year-old was treated in a coronavirus ward of a Dallas hospital after her physical condition took a turn for the worse, according to People.
A rep for the reality TV personality commented on Monday that Simmons was admitted following the worsening of her symptoms and that she was undergoing treatment for the virus.

According to the rep, ‘Her oxygen levels were borderline and she will start remdesivir. At this time we ask you to respect her and her family’s privacy and to send your prayers for a speedy recovery.’
The news was first reported by podcast host Kate Casey, who made the announcement through her Twitter account on Monday.
The tweet read: ‘Just heard from D’Andra and she is asking for your prayers. She’s in the hospital and struggling.’
Friend of the housewives Jennifer Davis made a post to her Instagram Story to notify her followers about Simmons’ condition, which was deleted shortly after being posted.

The media personality has been a main cast member of the Dallas version of the Real Housewives franchise since its second season; the fifth season of the show is set to premiere in January.
Simmons is not the only Real Housewife to contract the virus, as numerous other castmates from various shows in the media franchise have been infected in the past.
In July, Shannon Beador, who appears on the Orange County iteration of the show, announced that she had contracted the coronavirus, along with her daughters.

Keeping tabs: While no other cases from the RHOD set have been reported, other cast and crew members of different Real Housewives shows have previously contracted the virus
Multiple members of the Beverly Hills version of the show have undergone treatment for the disease recently, including Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley, and Kathy Hilton.
Richards recently made a post to her Instagram detailing how she and her sister finally overcame the effects of the virus after weeks of various ailments.
In November, production on the Atlanta iteration of the show was shut down after a crew member began experiencing characteristic symptoms of COVID-19.
A month prior, filming on the New York version was halted for the same reason; none of the housewives tested positive for the virus.
