Taylor Swift and Katy Perry were once notorious rivals with a longstanding feud that lasted for nearly five years, before bedding their beef in 2019.
On Tuesday the pop stars showed their friendship was still going strong, as Swift could not but help but gush over Perry’s Not The End Of The World music video.
Calling the new intergalactic video ‘GENIUS’ on Twitter, fans were quick to swoon that ‘Kaylor,’ was the ‘cultural reset,’ they all needed.

In the out of this world music video, Perry playfully casts look alike actress Zooey Deschanel as the lead.
Getting ‘saved’ from earth after the aliens mistake the New Girl actress for Katy, the video is a funny take on many people’s sentiments surrounding 2020.
Posting a photo of Deschanel in response to the Dark Horse singer’s video announcement, Swift wrote ‘THIS IS GENIUS,’ in all caps.

Her response garnered over 35K likes in less than an hour as one fan wrote: ‘QUEENS SUPPORTING QUEENS,’ and another tweeted: ‘Kaylor isn’t just a collab, it’s a cultural reset, it’s the oxygen you breathe, it’s a lifestyle, a reason to breathe, an escape from this cruel world, it’s art, the first gift you open on christmas, a hug from a loved one, everything you’ve ever wanted.’
The singers’ feud dates back to 2014.
Many were speculating John Mayer was the catalyst for the issues, as Swift was linked to him back in 2009 before Perry started dating him in 2013.

By 2014 the feud had gone into full blown sabotage mode as the rising pop stars fought over background dancers, as both found themselves going on a world tour (Swift’s Red Tour and Perry’s Prism Tour) at the same time.
Claiming that Perry both tried and succeeded at stealing dancers in the middle of her tour, the Bad Blood singer told Rolling Stone: ‘She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.’
Shortly after the article came out the California Girls’ singer tweeted, ‘Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing…’

Three years later the feud was still not over as Perry told James Corden on a 2017 Carpool Karaoke episode, ‘She started it, and it’s time for her to finish it.’
In a Youtube live stream that same year Katy made it a point to say she was over it: ‘I forgive her, and I’m sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her, and I think it’s actually – I think it’s time.’
In May 2018 Perry bit the bullet and sent Taylor a literal olive branch before the opening night of her Reputation Stadium Tour, however it seems ill feelings may have lingered for another year until Katy shared a photo of a plate of cookies that said ‘Peace at last,’ in June 2019.

Saying that their rekindling ‘feels good,’ the two continued to put their issues behind them as she and Taylor appeared in the You Need To Calm Down video as they amicably hugged while dressed as a burger and fries.
Both aimed to set an example of kindness moving forward as Perry said:
‘I think that both her and I, we have influence to young people and especially young girls who are in this type of situation day in and day out at school.’
‘It’s amazing that we’ve had this opportunity to change and I just hope that other people can learn from it too,’ she said.
