But beyond the look of life at this intense workplace, there were fascinating and complex characters who were some of the most memorable ever on TV. As the show’s magnetic lead character, Don Draper, Hamm made a business of selling perfection. And while he and his beautiful wife Betty, and then Megan, all made a handsome picture, his personal life was a bit of a mess, to say the least. His Emmy Award winning turn as the dapper Draper was really Hamm’s breakthrough part.

During Mad Men’s run Hamm shot several episodes of 30 Rock, which earned him some Emmy nods, and showed a funnier side of the man who played the serious Draper. He’s continued to pick some funny roles, notably as a cult leader on The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Even when you don’t see his handsome mug, his voice can be heard as the commanding narrator of Mercedes-Benz commercials.

As the stunning beauty Megan, she went from being Don Draper’s secretary to his new wife. Prior to joining the cast Paré starred on another period show, the WB series Jack & Bobby.

Prior to his role of Lane Pryce on Mad Men, Harris had appeared in many movies, including Lost in Space and Resident Evil: Apocalypse. On the series, Harris joined the show as a financial whiz, with a bit of a troubled past, during the Sterling Cooper merger with a British ad agency.

As the enigmatic Roger Sterling, Slattery was nominated for four supporting Emmy nominations for his ability to blend Roger’s ambition with his easygoing charm.
